Modern Slavery Act Statment

This statement is made pursuant to Section 54, Part 6 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps that Mitech UK Limited  has taken to ensure that slavery or slavery-like practices, forced labour and human trafficking is not taking place in our supply chains or in any part of the  business.

Our organisational structure: Mitech was founded in 2007 and is now a well established, recognised, multi award winning and ISO:4001 & 9001 business.

The registered office: 63 High Rd, Bushey Heath, WD23 1EE, United Kingdom.

Our policy on slavery and human trafficking: Mitech has a commitment towards preventing slavery and human trafficking in our supply agreements or across wider supply chains and, therefore, Mitech adopts a zero tolerance approach towards slavery and human trafficking and expects all those in our supply chain (and contractors) to comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.  All members of Mitech are expected to report any concerns relating to slavery or human trafficking. Any concerns raised will be duly investigated with action taken as necessary.  Mitech also adopts the principles of the Ethical Trading Initiative Base Code of labour 1 practice; namely: • Employment is freely chosen  • Freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining are respected  • Working conditions are safe and hygienic  • Child labour shall not be used  • Living wages are paid  • Working hours are not excessive  • No discrimination is practiced  • Regular employment is provided  • No harsh or inhumane treatment is allowed In addition to the above. In particular, there is an obligation to act with integrity and in accordance with all relevant legislation and statutory requirements. This includes compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

Due Diligence: All reasonable efforts are undertaken to ensure that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place in our supply chains. Mitech works hard to prevent slavery and human trafficking from taking place in our supply chains and this is through implementing the following:  maintain our ISO accreditations through auditing internally and externally, Managing Risk – Tender process  In securing supply agreements.

It is also important to note that Mitech procures in an ethical, auditable, transparent way, taking account of equality, diversity and sustainability issues and also making use of available framework arrangements.

Mitech preference is to always use our own terms rather than a supplier’s as this provides far greater protection. This enables the Mitech to ensure that suppliers are aware of our position in relation to slavery and human trafficking and permits us to terminate any agreement where it is confirmed that there is slavery or human trafficking involved.

Mitech believe that the principal areas that are likely to carry material risks are: office supplies, ICT and AV equipment, and services such as cleaning, catering and security. However, to ensure that Mitech is successful in preventing slavery or human trafficking in any of our supply chains, we prefer to work with other, highly accredited organisations such as ours who adhere to the same standards as set out in the ISO BMS.

We will continually review relationships with all suppliers and will assess any concerns of slavery or human trafficking on a case-by-case basis.
